Today I went to CBD Medical Clinic the 2nd time. The first time was around May last year. I told my mum I wanted to double check whether I had cancer as I still felt a painless lump on my right breast under the collarbone.

Before the appointment, I was thinking what would I do if the doctor broke the bad news that I had “x” years to live, or that I would need to undergo either a lumpectomy (breast conserving surgery) or mastectomy (removal of the whole breast). To my own surprise, I realised a part of me was intent to give in. I simply would not want to accept any treatment.

“No worries dear! The lump you feel is actually the joining part of the bones”.

Dr. Daniela assured me after carefully examine the breast several times. Then she glanced at my kidney transplant scar and said “You must have been through a lot”.

I just couldn’t help crying the whole way home.
